All is not well in the slacker lives of Chisato and Mahiro as the loveably lazy ‘Baby’ assassins joined a gym without paying any of their membership fees! Having failed to settle four years of accumulated debt before the deadline on account of a bank robbery mishap, Chisato and Mahiro find themselves suspended from their professional guild of assassins and are forced to seek out menial jobs to buy their way back. As if finding work isn’t challenging enough for youngsters in Japan, they have to contend with brother assassins who come gunning for the now vacant spots in their guild.

Full of wacky food-obsessed banter, BABY ASSASSINS 2 is an odd couple action comedy that’s vastly different from 48 HOURS or RUSH HOUR. Embracing slacker humor and leaning into Gen Z’s existential malaise, Hugo Sakamoto’s sequel stays true to the original’s bubblegum flavor and takes gleeful pleasure in putting its quirky characters in unlikely situations. Anchored by spirited and perfectly attuned performances of returning  leads Akari Takaishi and Saori Izawa, expect a barrage of good-natured bickering and bonding and the occasional blast of martial arts thrills and JOHN WICK-style gun-fu, all of which is once again spectacularly choreographed under the expert guidance of industry veteran Kensuke Sonomura.
